Happy first day of school, Kent and Covington! We were thrilled to see the smiling faces of our students today and especially loved handing out school supplies after the culmination of the Communities In Schools of Kent school supply drive.
This summer, in partnership with the Kent School District, Kent Station, and the Kent and Covington Kiwanis clubs, 8,356 items were collected. That’s over 3,000 pounds of school supplies for at-risk students!
We couldn’t have done it without our community partners. This was a collaborative effort across the board, with everyone coming together for a common goal: making sure as many students as possible in the Kent School District started the school year prepared and ready to learn. We had 25 partners in total!
