“I have been working on creating a new Food Support Program here at Kentlake called Falcon Foods. In collaboration with Interact club, school staff, and administration, I was able to create and lead this new program. Students can come every Friday during 6th period and pack their own bag of food for the weekend. Students were identified to participate in Falcon Foods through a needs assessment our school does each year. Messaging was also sent out to all families, staff, and students on how to receive a pass if they need this support.
Our first day was this past Friday and we were able to serve 30 students with 315 food items and 35 hygiene items. Students were really excited to pick out their own food items.”
